Tickets: £100 per person
The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon are delighted to welcome you to an evening of Cabaret, Champagne & Castle Tours.
The minute you arrive at the gates of Highclere Park, it seems like a world apart, an 18th century arcadia guiding you up the main drive to the Castle itself. This special May evening begins with Champagne and Canapes in the Library, followed by an opportunity to enjoy a tour around the State Rooms of the Castle so familiar to those of you who have watched “Downton Abbey”. Our Highclere tour guides will be on hand to answer any questions regarding the history of the building, artwork, furniture as well as behind the scenes at Downton Abbey.
Lady Carnarvon will then welcome you into the Saloon, the heart of the house, for an original and very entertaining cabaret from Kit and McConnel. Famous for their songs and comedy, they have performed in theatres and festivals throughout the UK as well as abroad.
Three years ago, they were nominated for the London Cabaret award, “the duo make beautiful musical comedy together” “…Catch this splendid show”!
The Evening Standard commented on Kit’s “eloquent Noël Coward wordplay” whilst declaring McConnel, who had “the air of a professorial Hugh Grant, is his foil.” “I could barely write for laughing most of the time” (Edinburgh Festival).
Following the cabaret, join us for coffees, teas and dessert canapés before winding your way back through the Park at 9.30pm.
P.S. If the weather is a delightful spring evening you are welcome to arrive at 6:30pm before to enjoy the Gardens. Please note that there may be some filming of the performance during the evening.
*Please note that the performance contains adult humour and may not be suitable for children.
