History Festival. October 2020

Highclere Castle History Festival Weekend
October 10th and 11th 2020

Our inaugural Highclere Castle History Festival will take place in October this year inspired by, and in collaboration with, The Chalke Valley History Festival. We will take the theme of VE Day and reconciliation throughout the weekend.  We are fortunate to welcome a series of renowned speakers and historians.

On the Saturday (October 10th) we  will also welcome a selection of military displays on the ground and in the skies. It is anticipated that all present will stand together to commemorate the great people who served their country as well as acknowledging those who continue to serve today and allows us to acknowledge our commitment to support four chosen charities which had been our intention in May of this challenging year.

MSF, SSAFA, The RAF Benevolent Fund and the US military charity TAPS will join us on the weekend.

We hope that it we can again sing that “We’ll  meet again" and "it will be a sunny day" to borrow the words from the great Dame Vera Lynn song.

As we gather our plans together, we will share them with you and we hope it will be a weekend to look forward to.
