This short booklet gathers together some of the life and work of the landscape gardener Lancelot "Capability" Brown and explores the transformation of the landscape at Highclere from his plans. Brown changed the face of 18th century England, designing country estates and mansions, moving hills, making flowing lakes and serpenine rivers.
"The silhouette and interiors of Highclere Castle are familiar both in England and internationally. However, in my view, the appeal of the house and its history are perfected by its setting. The Park and landscape at Highclere allow each visitor to feel that they are entering a world apart."
