At Home at Highclere
Castle Guided Tours
May 2025
We are delighted to welcome guests for a special Guided Tour of Highclere Castle.
Whilst known to millions as the set of the Downton Abbey TV series and films, Highclere retains the warmth and welcome of a much-loved family home.
On this special tour, guests will have the exclusive opportunity to explore the Castle in a small group with one of our knowledgeable guides, to discover the charm of Highclere in an intimate setting.
The guided tour, which will begin at either 10:30am or 2:00pm, will lead you through the State Rooms, Gallery Bedrooms and Staircases so familiar to fans of “Downton Abbey.”
Imagine yourself as the Dowager Lady Grantham in the green Drawing Room or walk down the Oak Staircase just like Lady Mary or Lord Grantham.
You are also invited to discover the Egyptian Exhibition, which celebrates the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun by Howard Carter and the 5th Earl of Carnarvon in 1922.
Your tickets will also include a complimentary tea, coffee and biscuit from our Tea Rooms to enjoy after your tour and a copy of Lady Carnarvon’s book, “At Home at Highclere”, which you will collect from the Gift Shop on the day.
Guests joining our morning tours are welcome onsite from 9:30am, afternoon guests are welcome onsite from 1:00pm.
