A Weekend to Remember Main Event

A Weekend to Remember

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September 2025

Please join us to explore life at Highclere Castle between 1939 and 1945 and celebrate 80 years since the end of World War II.

“With age does come experience and that can be a virtue if it is sensibly used. By being willing to put past differences behind us and move forward together, we honour the freedom and democracy once won for us at so great a cost.”

“And when peace comes, remember it will be for us, the children of today, to make the world of tomorrow a better and happier place.”

Princess Elizabeth’s (Queen Elizabeth II) first wartime broadcast.

The day will include:

  • Castle Tours
  • Highclere’s Egyptian Exhibition
  • Specialist ‘Pop-Up’ Talks
  • Live Vintage Music
  • Swing Dancing
  • Living History Reenactors
  • Croquet and Badminton on the Castle Lawns
  • Vintage Costume Display
  • Children’s Storytelling and Activities

And more...

This is a weekend to raise money to support those who serve and those who save in today’s world.

Come along to listen to a variety of speakers, learn to dance swing, sing along to the 1940s singers and tap your toes to the music.

There will be lawn games and a 'History of Flight' tent detailing the planes and crew which crashed at Highclere.
