As a cherished Friend of Highclere, we would love to invite you to experience an exclusive guided tour of Highclere Castle designed especially for you.

While steeped in rich and varied history, and now known to millions through the success of Downton Abbey, Highclere Castle also retains the warmth and welcome of a much-loved family home.

Join us for this specially curated guided tour which ensures you enjoy a very intimate experience of this amazing home.

Grounds will open at 3.30pm to enable you to see the Castle Gardens. At 4.30pm you are invited to join us for a glass of Champagne in the Saloon, the very heart of the Castle, where your tour will begin.

Our guides will take you through the State Rooms that are so familiar from the TV series and the latest film, followed by our upstairs Galleried Bedrooms. Follow in the footsteps of the actors who created the moments you all so enjoy, whilst our guides fill you in with all their anecdotes from the filming and share their exceptional knowledge of the building, artwork and furniture.

You will also be able to explore the Egyptian Exhibition which is housed in the atmospheric cellars of the Castle. This fascinating exhibition tells the story of the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun by Howard Carter and the 5^th Earl of Carnarvon and contains antiquities from the earlier tombs in the Valley of the Nobles and Valley of the Queens.

Tickets are £120 per person which includes Lady Carnarvon’s latest book, ‘A Year at Highclere’. 

Please collect this from the Gift Shop on the day, as we regret that we are unable to post these after the event.

Dress code for the event is smart/casual; please wear sensible footwear for the Gardens.

Please note, the Castle closes its doors at 6pm with the gates to the Castle and Grounds closing promptly at 6.30pm.
