‘A Weekend to Remember’ Preview Evening

Lord and Lady Carnarvon are delighted to welcome to an exclusive preview evening on Friday 5^th September 2025 for "A Weekend to Remember".

Channel your inner Downton Abbey and join us in the Saloon for a Champagne and Canapé Reception before exploring the State Rooms and Gallery Bedrooms with one of our knowledgeable guides.

Many of the rooms will reflect how they were used in the Second World War and we are fortunate to have access to costumes of that era which will be displayed throughout the Castle.

Imagine yourself as the Dowager Countess in the Drawing Room or walk down the Oak Staircase just like Lady Mary or Lord Grantham.

Highclere is more than just a star of the silver screen. There is a fascinating collection of art and furniture, from Napoleon’s desk in the Music Room to the portrait of Charles I by Anthony van Dyck in the Dining Room.

You will also be able to discover our Egyptian Exhibition in the cellars.

Each guest will receive a gift bag to take home on the evening.

Your ticket for this evening also gives you access to the grounds and gardens on Saturday 6^th September so that you can enjoy all the entertainment on offer during this weekend. There will be living history re-enactors, 1940s swing dancing, live music performances, vintage cars and insightful discussions led by the Highclere team and other speakers.

Tickets are £250 per person which includes:

• Champagne and Canapé Reception with Lord and Lady Carnarvon
• A guided tour of the Castle State Rooms and Gallery Bedrooms
• An opportunity to visit the Egyptian Exhibition
• A wonderful gift bag
• ‘Event and Entertainment Only’ tickets to return the following day to attend the event within the gardens on Saturday 6^th September 2025

Please note, there is not a concessions rate for this event.  Children’s tickets are not available as this event is for over 18s only.

We will have a variety of Canapés, including vegetarian options served throughout the evening.  Please note, we cannot guarantee that our products are either dairy-free or nut-free.  We are unable to accommodate additional dietary events for this event.

Event Schedule:

Friday 5^th September 2025:

The Grounds and Gardens will open at 5:00pm.

Guests are welcomed into the Castle at 5:30pm for the Reception.

The Grounds and Gates will close at 8:00pm.

Dress Code: Smart (suggested suits and cocktail dresses).

Saturday 6^th September 2025:

You are welcome onsite to explore the all-day event within the Gardens from 9:00am – 5:00pm.

Please note that access to the Castle is not included on the Saturday, but you will receive a guided tour of the Castle on the Friday evening.

Please wear sensible footwear for exploring the Gardens.
