Tickets are £45 per person which includes entrance to the Castle, the Egyptian exhibition and castle gardens along with an array of outside entertainment. Your selected admission time is for entry to the Castle and Egyptian Exhibition but all ticket holders are welcome spend the whole day in the grounds and enjoy the entertainment between 10:00am – 5:00pm
Castle entry between 10:30am – 12:30pm.
Castle entry between 12:30pm – 2:30pm.
Castle entry between 2.30pm – 4.00pm.
Be our guest, come and explore the history of the 1920’s and ancient Egyptology as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun by the Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter, at the real Downton Abbey.
The Castle will be open for self-guided tours throughout the weekend along with a display of original 1920’s costumes in the State Rooms. Outside there will be a display of living history re-enactors, live vintage musical performances and pop-up talks on a number of topics around the theme.
Our tea rooms will be open throughout the day offering a delicious selection of hot and cold food and drinks and our gin cocktail bar will be serving throughout the day.
VIP Experience with Guided Tour:
We are delighted to be able to offer a small number of exclusive VIP tickets to include an early access guided tour of the Castle and a specialist talk in our vintage marquee.
Lord and Lady Carnarvon will welcome VIP guests at 9:00am in the Saloon, the heart of the Castle before you embark on a guided tour which will take you through the State rooms, the Gallery and Castle Bedrooms. Our guides have exceptional knowledge of the building, works of art and furniture along with behind the scenes stories to tell from their time working as stewards during the “Downton Abbey” filming.
After your guided tour you will be invited to our Vintage Marquee on the south lawn to find “banquet” style seating and tables with a glass of Bucks Fizz, coffee, croissants and Danish pastries and you will then be able to enjoy a talk about the discovery of Tutankhamun with the opportunity for questions. After which you are welcome to explore the Egyptian exhibition in the Castle cellars as well as the different entertainments around the castle.
Each VIP ticket holder will receive a signed copy of ‘Egypt at Highclere’ written by Lady Carnarvon.
PICNIC AFTERNOON TEA BOX - for two people
We are pleased to offer an opportunity to combine your visit to Highclere Castle with our "Picnic Afternoon Tea" - a selection of delicious cakes, scones and sandwiches with a Half Bottle of Joseph Perrier Champagne served in a beautiful box.
We offer a Standard Menu, Vegetarian Menu and a Gluten-Free Menu. These menu options apply to the complete Picnic Box. We cannot offer mixed menus within a single Picnic Box.
