Spring Public Opening 2024

Spring Public Opening 2024 Opening is now sold out. Given the very wet weather we are NOT able to offer any walk up tickets on any day during April. We hope the month of May may prove less challenging.  Please note the  dates and availability  on the calendar at the bottom of this page.  However  the guided tours  and talks  on April 16, 17 &18 do have some tickets to buy 

Please note, amongst the Spring dates we will be holding our annual Easter Trail on Saturday 6^th April 2024. There is also a Country Fair taking place in the Park on Sunday 26^th May 2024 and Monday 27^th May 2024. These are separate ticketed events to the tickets available on this page.

Whilst some days are now fully prebooked, we do always hold tickets in reserve for Friends of Highclere to ensure you/they are able to have priority access as well as many other special benefits.Please do contact us (friends@highclerecastle.co.uk) “Here together, friends forever. Ticket Prices:

Children under 4 years of age do not require tickets and can enjoy free admission.

Please note, walk-up tickets will not be available over the Easter opening given the weather adn parking but may be available to purchase at the gate on the day from May onwards.  Ticket prices are £3 per adult higher than prebooked tickets bought on this website.  Child tickets are not affected.  If you have any questions about walk-up tickets, please email theoffice@highclerecastle.co.uk

There are three Castle admission times available. You are welcome to enter the Castle at any time within your booked window. 

• Morning Admission:  Admission between 10:00am-12:30pm
• Midday Admission:  Admission between 12:30pm- 2:30pm
• Afternoon Admission:  Admission between 2:30pm-4:00pm

Last admission to the Castle is 4:00pm.  Regardless of your ticket timing, you are welcome to visit the Gardens, Tearooms and Gift Shop throughout the day.  The Gardens, Tearooms and Gift Shop all close at 5pm and the park gates at 5:30pm

Tours of the Castle and Egyptian Exhibition are on a self-guided basis, with our knowledgeable guides available throughout to provide information and assistance.

Picnic Afternoon Tea for Two

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to combine your visit to Highclere Castle with our “Picnic Afternoon tea for Two”- a selection of delicious cakes, scones and sandwiches with a Half Bottle of Joseph Perrier Champagne all served in a beautiful box.

We offer Standard, Vegetarian and Gluten-free menus.  These menu options apply to the entire Picnic Box, we are unable to offer mixed menus within one box.  We do not offer a Vegan menu. We cannot guarantee that our products are either dairy-free or nut-free.  For details of our menus, please click HERE.

If you wish to add a “Picnic Afternoon tea for Two” to your order, you can select this add-on option below.  Our Picnic Boxes are £75 for two people.

Your tickets are sent by email at the end of the purchase.  Please do check your email junk folder if these do not come through to you.  A copy of your tickets will also be left in your account on this website for you to view/print whenever you choose before you arrive.

Please familiarise yourself with our Terms and Conditions and FAQ pages prior to purchase.  As you checkout, there will be reminders given that tickets are non-transferrable and non-refundable. Please ensure that you have carefully checked dates before booking as, once purchased, we will be unable to transfer your tickets to another date. Please note than neither dogs (guide/assistance dogs excepted) nor picnics are allowed within the grounds.
