Summer Evening Guided Castle Tours
We are delighted to welcome guests for a special summer’s evening guided tour of Highclere Castle. These will take place on a limited number of dates in June 2022.
The evening begins as you step into the Saloon at the heart of the castle where you will enjoy a refreshing glass of Highclere Castle champagne.
Led by one of our knowledgeable guides, the tour will lead you through the State Rooms, Gallery bedrooms and staircases so familiar to fans of “Downton Abbey.” Imagine yourself as the Dowager Lady Grantham in the green Drawing Room or walk down the Oak Staircase just like Lady Mary or Lord Grantham.
Highclere is also more than just a star of the silver screen through its alter ego. There is a fascinating collection of art and furniture from Napoleon’s desk in the Music Room to the portrait of Charles I by Anthony van Dyck in the Dining Room.
You are also invited to discover the Egyptian exhibition which celebrates the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun by Howard Carter and the 5th Earl of Carnarvon.
The grounds will open from 4pm to allow you to enjoy the gardens from the white border by the secret garden to the rose arbour and the magnificent cedar trees on the greenest of lawns around the castle.
Tickets are £125 per person which includes a guided tour of the Castle, complimentary glass of Champagne and a signed copy of the Countess of Carnarvon’s book.
Carer tickets (1 per paying, registered disabled visitor) and children’s tickets (ages 4 - 16) are also available at £65.
The gardens will open at 4pm and the Castle doors at 5pm. The grounds and gates will close at 7:30pm.
Dress code is smart but please wear sensible footwear in the Gardens.
